Paul Unsworth of Channel Ministries

Paul until recently was the Worship Leader of the Watton
Pentecostal Church, which is part of River Ministries (Norfolk) England. He is
also director of Channel Ministries, in which Paul copyrights his songs,
administered by CopyCare Hailsham Sussex. He has now moved to Yeovil,
Somerset where he part of the Crewkerne Community Church in Somerset.

How Channel Ministries started

Even though Channel Ministries came into being in 1995, it was really in 1992 that things started to develop for Paul Unsworth who is the Director. Paul had been invited to submit a song for the Children’s work at the Stoneleigh Bible weeks which went on to be used. The song “Jesus here I stand” was published through the Worship Service Ltd based in Hailsham, East Sussex , England . In 1995 the Worship Service Ltd Directors felt the time was right to move on in a different area of Christian Music Publishing, and decided to close the Worship Service down. It was at this time Paul was given the opportunity to Publish under his own name.

It was during this time that Paul sought the Lord about what he should be doing, and if he was going to go forward in this, what name should he use? One of Paul’s ideals on worship is that we are all channels in the work of the kingdom, in fact this ideal actually affects every area of the Christian service. Channel Ministries came into being, Paul was given a picture of a funnel coming down from heaven, and the Spirit of the Lord was flowing through the funnel. Channel Ministries vision is to encourage Worship Leaders across the denominations, that we are all worshippers together, and that our common goal is that we should worship the Lord in Spirit and in Truth. Truth being that we are all part of God’s family and we worship the same Lord.

Worship songs are a part of that worship that we bring to the Lord. There are a lot of song writers out in the Christian Community who have never had the opportunity to share their songs, so we have created the opportunity for you to share them on the world wide web, and we want to encourage you to do so, by sending them in to us, through the usual email address.
